Tron Audio

Snagging the role of designing sound for a Tron game was just too good to be true. A huge fan of the original film, I'd been stoked they were doing an update. Well of course they're going to be making games for them!
The Wii version tells the story after the original movie but before the DS, 360/PS3 versions which come before the new movie out December 2010. This was a lighter, simpler time when grid games were still king and were played for fun. This coupled with the fact it was a Wii game made it a clear decision to focus solely on the games and multiplayer fun.
We had access to a movie assets as well as assets being produced by Propaganda for the PS3 and 360 versions, but it became apparent very quickly that those weren't going to work for our games. We captured a variety of sounds for some things but tried to remain solely in the synthesis world for most cues. It was this mix of analog and digital that helped bring the world of Tron to life!

Grid Tanks Demo
Tron DS features original music not featured in any of the other versions of Tron composed by yours truly. The feel was a mix of light and dark, right before the utopia turned to dystopia. There is no voice work as we opted to shove more game in this tiny cartridge. It's a huge adventure, one that I think will be a great handheld treat for gamers on the go.
