Move it, but watch out for the doorway-sized spiders!
Was tasked with the audio for my first Kinect title. It was great learning about the new hardware and finding the best way for audio to have impact. Well, it's a fitness game but it's also one of the only first person fitness game with adventure elements.
We opted to not have footsteps because of the slight lag of the Kinect hardware. Was a shame, but nothing worse than having your own footsteps be out of sync. We also got a ton of great vocals from Jillian herself. So many great variations, I opted to include as many as possible to help with the repetition that can set in after hearing the same line across one workout. She may say the same thing, but she had a different inflection that time...didn't she?
Do you believe we went through maybe 20 different versions of the in game coin sound before settling on one? Seems a simple thing, but it's one of the sounds you hear most in the game so it deserves some attention. Nothing too shrill or piercing but it has to cut through in any situation.
Music was fun to write, short deadline but tribal percussion is fun. Just a hint of electronica here and there, but mostly fun rhythms and impacts.

Get to hear one of the music tracks, an assortment of obstacles, and of course the infamous "BLING" of that coin.
