Game Audio Slack — Code of ConductThis Slack is a quiet, vetted space for game‑audio folks to talk shop, ask questions, share wins, and be human. It’s not a feed, not a Discord, and not a place that demands constant activity. Silence is normal here. Signal matters more than noise. At the same time,
To keep this space good for everyone:
  1. Be kind. Treat people with respect, curiosity, and patience.
  2. Be professional. We’re all adults in the same industry. Act like it.
  3. Keep it human‑scale. No spam, no blasting, no attention‑hunting. Share things because they matter, not because you need clicks.
  4. Stay on topic. This Slack is for game audio. Off‑topic is fine in moderation, but keep the center of gravity clear.
  5. No harassment or discrimination. Zero tolerance. If you can’t be decent, this isn’t your space.
  6. Respect privacy. This Slack is intentionally non‑indexed and low‑visibility. Don’t screenshot or share conversations outside the group without permission.
  7. Use channels thoughtfully. Keep things where they belong. Threads are appreciated but not policed.
  8. Promote yourself responsibly. Sharing your work is welcome when it’s relevant, personal, or part of a conversation. Don’t treat this place like a marketing channel.
  9. Assume good intent. We’re all here to learn, help, and connect — not to score points.
  10. If something feels off, reach out. DM me (@tporter64). I keep an eye on things, but I don’t hover. Ok, sometimes I hover.
This Slack works because people here value calm, clarity, and community. Thanks for helping keep it that way.

Message Etiquette
To keep conversations tidy and easy to follow in this workspace:
  • Use threads when replying to an existing topic. It keeps the main channel readable and helps people catch up without scrolling.
  • Avoid rapid‑fire multi‑message bursts. Combine thoughts when possible.
  • Use clear subject lines when starting a new topic (e.g., “Wwise question,” “Composer availability,” “Unity audio routing”)
